Tragedy in SE Michigan

I can never understand why parents do these things. Unbelievable.

Police thought they were heading out to help an injured toddler.

But when they arrived, the boy was dead and they saw signs his parents were cooking methamphetamines inside the home.

That was the scene Monday afternoon in Sterling Heights, where police said they discovered the boy, about 18 months old, dead inside a home in the 42000 block of Betley.

Meth labs are extremely toxic. Whenever authorities discover one, they go in to dismantle it wearing protective gear that would impress workers at a chemical dump. It is a dangerous job for highly trained experts. And these people just cooked up meth in front of their kids. Unbelievable.
