Top Ten Resume Lies

According to Forbes Magazine, these are the top ten lies on resumes:

10. For some reason, Forbes started at nine, so we'll have a top nine list
9. Padding grade point averages (Gee, that 2.5 became a 3.5 with a "slip of the finger" on the keyboard).
8. Providing a fake address
7. Claiming language fluency (Sabe usted hablar espanol) HUH?
6. Lying about technical abilities (hey, boss, what is a cosine?)
5. Inflating titles
4. Increasing previous salary (unfortunately many companies require a check stub to confirm the figures people put... oops)
3. Exaggerating numbers (claiming you made your previous employer a million dollars last year when you didn't)
2. Playing with dates
1. Lying about getting a degree (we lost a city manager in my hometown over that one, and the sad part is - he would have won the job offer without the stated degree on his resume)
