Heat Wave

Ah, what a beautiful day. As I went to work this morning, my car's thermometer registered 80 degrees at 7am. The Weather Channel had this interesting tidbit for the Detroit area on their website:

RECORD OR NEAR RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES TODAY WILL COMBINE WITH HIGH HUMIDITY TO PRODUCE HEAT INDEX VALUES AROUND 105 DEGREES FOR SEVERAL HOURS THIS AFTERNOON AND TUESDAY AFTERNOON. NIGHT TIME LOW TEMPERATURES IN THE MID TO UPPER 70S WILL PROVIDE ONLY SLIGHT RELIEF WITH A STEADY SOUTHWEST WIND.

I love this weather. I imagine it will be one of those days when the different news media sources beg people to stay inside or they will melt and die. Screw that - these are great days. Michigan is rather cold so much of the year, it is time to get out and celebrate. Mow the lawn. Enjoy the hot weather - September is coming quickly.
