Camp Perry Moments

This marked the 100th anniversary of the National Matches. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Camp Perry.

Camp Perry is an Ohio National Guard facility on Lake Erie in Northern Ohio. Lake Erie is one of the Great Lakes, and has been around for about 100 years. It has, as you might expect, some fantastic shooting ranges... and as an added bonus, the bordering city, Port Clinton, is the walleye capital of the world. Nothing better than being around rifles all day and overdoing it on walleye at night.

I especially enjoyed watching the Army Marksmanship Unit. I had the honor of meeting Army Major Michael Anti during the week as he won his third National Smallbore Rifle NRA Three-Position Championship. Major Anti finished third in the Prone Metallic Sight competition with a score of 3192-234X. An excellent shot and a true gentleman.
