Apologies?

Do we in the US get any apologies from al-Qaeda leaders? I mean, to listen to the Democrats who apologize whenever an MP guarding captured terrorists sneezes, I thought we were due some kind of apology. After all, aren't the terrorists more civilized than we are? At least more civilized than President Bush? Or has a New York Times writer made up information again?
