We Must Act Now to Punish Small Business Owners
95% of gas stations in Michigan are locally owned. They aren’t big oil and they are struggling with these high costs too.
You mean to tell me that I pay over $3 a gallon to gas stations that may be owned by an oil company? How am I to know which station is owned by the honest entrepreneur and which one is owned by eeeevil Big Oil? I thought they were all owned by Big Oil... I never drive down the street and see "Fred's Gas Station." I always see BP and Shell and Standard, etc. You know, Big Oil guys.
As my Governor, I suggest to you that we punish them all. I don't care if Big Oil owns them or a station is owned by my next-door neighbor just trying to make a living. They are hitting me for more than $3. This is un-Constitutional and against my First Amendment rights to have cheap gasoline.
Make them give me free gas to make up for their price-gouging when raw material cost increased and scarcity hit the economic scene. Cap their profits - in fact, don't let them make a profit. Make them operate so they lose money. That'll teach 'em a lesson. Don't screw with our gasoline prices, you eeeevil business owners. How dare you cover your costs.
While we are at it, make everyone in the state turn in their cars and ride bicycles. The state will make a fortune selling scrap to dealers - and properly taxed, the dealers will get socked again when they sell the scrap. What a windfall for the State of Michigan.
And with the "no cars in Michigan" policy, fewer pollutants will be in our air AND it will screw the Big Oil and Big Auto companies by getting rid of demand in this state. When all the Oil and Auto workers lose their jobs, we can blame it on George W. Bush and keep him from winning a third term in office.
Hey - this is an election year. Forget this advice, Governor, I can use it in my own campaign for your office. To donate to my Jay for Governor campaign, please call my toll-free number at (888) I TAX BIG. It seems to work for our Governors - why not for me?
